Surprisingly the number of people who use Macs
over PC's is a higher number than many would think according to
several sources at about 8-12% defending on your geographic location.
Many professionals in the web design industry do choose Macs over
PC's including the University I attended (SAIT College) which was
all Mac based for their multimedia program.
The top reasons people seem to make this choice
is a better more user friendly interface (operating system) and
it's ability to reduce some of the PC's most annoying problems (screen
freezes, system crashes, viruses, spam ect.)
Speaking from experience believe me MAC's DO in
fact suffer from a lot of these problems as well, but not to the
same degree PC's do.
It seems almost any PC (if it is using instant
messaging or any relatively new technology) has an increasingly
short shelf life before being overcome with slowdown and other bugs,
even with regular maintenance.
Considering the major problems Windows Vista has
had as well you have to wonder of the number of Mac users will grow
even more over the next couple years.
